Not totally related, but somewhat...

True story of an interaction between Customer and Auto Parts Counter Guy (Decades ago)

Customer: I need a Starter for a 1969 Chev Impala
AP Guy: Ok, Here you go...$29.95
Customer: $29.95 ?? ...the other place across the street is only $19.95
AP Guy: Why didn't you get it?
Customer: They were "Out"
AP Guy: Well, $19.95 is our price too...when we're "Out"

Only thing worse that a DUH behind the parts counter is a DUH on the other side of the parts counter. ASE certified parts professional here. Favorite customer line " Oh just give me one. They are all the same" Yeah, that's why we have several thousand feet of warehouse space and shelves here.
