Default NO SPARK 2002 Carbed FLHT

So I have been fighting this for a couple of months now and have found ZERO solutions on this or any other forum so here it goes.

Last fall road the bike into the garage, got up the next morning to head out and nothing. I had 1 week left on the insurance so left for when I had more time. put her up on the lift over the winter with a trickle charge and came back this spring.

I have tried replacement parts for the, ignition module, coil, plugs, plug wires. I seem to be getting power to the centre plug at the coil but no spark at the plugs. I am using an inline plug light and not grounding to the case. I can smell fuel in the cylinders and had a massive backfire a few weeks back but nothing since.

at this point any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Have you tried replacing the crank position sensor. It senses the notches on the flywheel and will initiate firing sequence from the missing notches.

If the plugs are soaked with gas they will ground to the ceramic. They will look fine but unless you remove them and and observe the spark jumping the gap, they could be bad.

I'm not saying this is necessarily your problem, but I had a similar situation with my 2003 Dresser several years ago. Bike rode fine and drove into the garage. Next morning, no spark. It was the crank position sensor. I think it was about $50.

I have installed brand new wires and plugs all gapped to spec. I tested the CPS and it seemed to have the right spec based on a test procedure a friend gave me. It does seem to keep coming back to this, for the $50 buck it may be worth putting a new one in. its the only part in the chain I haven't tried brand new.
