my buddy picked up an 88 electra glide the wiring on the rear finder was a night mare with wire nuts. I cleaned it up. I cant get the rear turn signal lights to work. I replaced the plug housing with one I had . the lights worked on a test battery I wired them to the correct wires and nothing. I can unplug then from the harness and with a test light I have power coming out at that plug I plug them in and nothing I no there wired correct what am I missing getting frustrated

could it be a ground , did you run a individual ground with the test battery?

 

yes I did run a ground with the test battery. I had to remove the rear finder so I could solder the wires back together I have to replace the rear tire so I have left the fender off until I change the tire. I just layed the finder on the bike to test and used a jumper wire for ground off battery i get a tail light but no turn signal lights . could it be just a bad ground since the finder is not bolted down ?
