Broken fairing bracket, again!!!

RE: Broken fairing bracket, again!!!
I asked the dealer to give me the broken one. I was going to have it welded for a spare. He said they must ship them back to the MoCo. Since the MoCo paid to put a new one on they figure the old one is thiers.
Dealer says they want them to try to find out what is happening.
Makes sense to me.

RE: Broken fairing bracket, again!!!
So common....it all started when the Electra Glides got new fairings and dash in 1996. The fairing rather looked about the same, just more screws holding it together. The dash was more of an automotive type dash up until 1996.
Pre-96 models never had that problem. They were tough and super thick. They didn't have 90 degree bends that most certainly break. Too bad the old brackets don't work on the current models.
Harley needs to do something about it. For now, all we can do is check your motor mounts. There might be some correlation between motor mounts and brackets....don't know for sure though. If you do have a broken braket....weld it. That usually solves the problem.
