Question Adding Cruise Control to a 2012 Electra Glide Classic

Second bike (first was 35 years ago), first H-D. Didn't know much about different options available. Bought the Classic, thought it had all the options I wanted. However, cruise control was not on the bike, just a switch on the dash to turn it on. I know that H-D sells a switch assembly for the right side that adds the controls for cruise control.

Fairly easy to add myself, or a dealer only add? Thanks.

Way more complicated than just adding handle bar switches. There are modules, sensors, and cables to name a few things.HD used to sell a kit to add it to some bikes, don't know if they still do. If not it's probably possible to gather all the needed parts used. Either way its not plug n play or even easy.

It seems like it would be fairly easy as the bike is already throttle by wire. That would put the throttle servo already on the bike. Not sure what else would be needed other than the control switch assembly. What other sensors, etc, would beneeded?

From what I understand it's plug and play for the most part. HD sells the new right hand control switch which has the cruise switches on it you plug it in And then take your bike to a dealership and they activate the cruise control capabilities within the bikes computer. I've been looking into for a bit and plan to do it when I switch to new handlebars.

This is exactly what it takes on a throttle by wire bike like a 2012.
