Default Police tires

I have an H-D 2006 FLHTPI police bike and it needs tires. I noticed the bead on the tire is a whole thicker than a replacement tire. It has the stock Dunlop police tires. What would be the difference between a stock and a police tire??
Should I replace the tires with police Dunlop or stock regular Dunlop.
Thank you for your help and advice on this matter.
Rudy.

I would just replace them with off the shelf dunlops. Curious as to what is stamped on the current tire sidewall as far as manufacturer information numbers and size.

They came with a run flat type tire. The newer police bikes just have the same tires as all touring bikes.

I still have an o6 Road King cop bike and yes it originally had the run flat tires on it.. Go with the American elites from Dunlop as they are good tires .. Jake Wilson is a good online tire store ..

I have an 07 RK Police bike that I run Metzler 888's on. They don't track the ruts in the road or wiggle changing lanes like I found the dunlops to do.

Run flat tires were once a big thing. It seems now it is not so much. The tires and rims we have now hold a bead pretty well when the go flat.
As me how I know. I have to also vote for the Dunlop they have served me well over the years.

An older thread, but it clarifies things.

There are others, should you Google "harley police tires".

I was going to buy a FLHTPI. They told me not to ride 2 up, on the Run Flats, because there was less fender clearance with the thicker police tires.
