Default RE: Oil PSI

you should see somethin in excess of 32psi @ running speed and 6-8 @ idle. It take 2 psi to prevent the oil light from coming on

I typically see 32 plus when cruising and around 6 psi idling at a red light.

Mines @ 8-10 at idle 32-36 riding. Strange thing is it used to be at 40 with the Syn3 but now it is lower with Mobil 1.

The dealer can do a test at the oil pressure sensor pick up. My dealer checked mine once when my light started blinkingon at idle and totally missed the problem (another story). The sensors and gauges can read a little differently. My current 06 Ultra consistently runs slightly higher than my 05 Classic did with the original pump and a warranty replacement. Bottom line, Harleys don't need a lot of pressure. If there's a problem, you'll hear the lifters making noise right away. Sounds awful, but surprisingly doesn't do any damage if you shut it down right away and call for a tow.
