Default Okay..... so? it's engie time

2005 FLTRi with only 140,xxx miles.... the past oil change I've noticed more and more engine noise.... NOW... I "get it" lots of moving parts going up and down, and round and round.... but, as I said... after 140,000 miles, one gets to know, one's engine.
No piston slap... no rod know... just noise....
Bone stock TC-88 with stage one... great bike, hasn't caused me a lick of trouble.... but it's time....

I would have rather lasted until winter, but, you play the cards you're dealt....

I seem to recall H-D having a 88-95 kit...... does anyone know the part number?
I spent too much time trying to get through the P&A online, and googled it as well...maybe H-D doesn't make it anymore????
Crank is going out to the machinist....and I want to stockpile the parts before hand....
95 kit, updated oil pump and hy am tensioners
stock(ish) cams....I don't do burn outs...I have plenty of power, so much so, that I doubt I use what I have... so not much need of MORE...I wouldn't MIND... but, I'm a guy... and if this is enough, and more is better..... than TOO much... is "just enough"

Talk to me people....

If you're doing the crank, have you thought about gear cams instead of hydraulic tensioner cams?

fuelmoto would have an entire kit with everything you would need (tuner inclusive) so as to not have to piece it together.

Hillside Cycles/Performance should be on your short list to get in touch with regarding a Big Bore kit. Straight shooter.

You're in Raleigh and close enough to Kendall Johnson to give him a call. He'll set you up right and won't try to take every dime you have. Good folks.

Last time I looked in the paper Screaming Eagle catalog, that kit was still offered.

Op,

if your are going to split the cases and do the crank, upgrade and do a 107. go to the 103 crank, have ut fixed by dark horse or rev performance

do timken, and go back 107.

easy to get to 115 to 125 ft lbs.

If ya are doing the crank, might as well stroke it and go at least 107. I'd get a S&S crank instead of messing with the stocker. Go gears instead of hyd too. Ya are throwing a lot of money at a high mileage old bike. Hope ya are in love with it...

could you look it up and give me the part number???
I am going blind from looking at engine kits,
Hard enough to rebuild the engine, but I want to have what I want/need..... i don't need 100+ HP....seems like every site I visit has a hard on, for power, and showing off, for the other boys at the bar....
All I want/need is a dependable motorcycle, that I can just GO.....
140k might not seem like much for a 12 year old bike (and it isn't) but I bought it when it was 3 years old with 10k on the clock...
which still isn't as much as the 5 year old bike, that I put 138k on, before buying THIS bike...but I have a life, and a family.... and they come BEFORE riding

If you are stuck on the SE kit,
http://www.boardtrackerharleyonline....ches-29775-02c

But ya would be better off, price, power and reliability wise, having a quality builder put together a a mild 95"-98" kit for ya.
