09 Street Glide limp mode.
#12
I was running into some dangerous situations, when I experienced the limp-home-mode with my Ultra 09.
Pampered the pins and the plug very well, but still the engine-light showed up again and again and the engine lost power.
Then I uncovered the six wires, leading to the TCA (Throttle Control Actuator) and wiggled every single of them with a tweezer, while the engine was in non limp-mode until I could reproduce the mistake.
And lo and behold, touching the black and white wire (see pic.)caused the problem and I discovered a cable break 1.5 inch before the plug.
The dealer soldered the faulty wiring and I had no problems since then.

To the OP. I had a lot of issues with my 09 SG going into limp mode also. It went back to the dealer for repair but that lasted a few months. I decided before this thing kills me I would just do the repair myself. The original harness is just too short! There is too much stress on the plug. Harley should have made it right to the owners of these bikes. I bought a throttle body harness from a salvaged bike on Ebay. Then I bought another male and female plug and made a longer harness with out the stress of that 90 deg wire bends at the end of the plug. I going to try and post pics.
