Another Seat Question
#21
I am thinking of going to the dealer this afternoon and test riding a couple of their sample seats. I have had a half dozen or more seats that I have bought and sold and although I will pay what I have to but not without testing the seat. Finding the right seat is more of a problem than I thought it would be. With what I have gone through I can't see how someone buys without trying. My shocks are great and the bike rides nice but the seat I have now is an inch too high and puts me too far back. It's like it's some kind of seat for a tall person. At 5'10" I can put both feet down but I am about straight legged and I'm not good with that.

Doesn't cost anything to call and ask questions.....

My friend has a Corbin on his RK, not sure which one, it seems hard as a rock but he really likes it. I think with many seats that are softer after you are on them for a bit the foam compresses and they become uncomfortable. The Corbin being stiffer probably doesn't do that. He has short legs and the one he bought puts him lower.

I went through 1/2 dozen or so seats before I finally bit the bullet and paid
huge money for my Corbin heated close solo.
I had them make it with softer foam, if you ask, they will do this.
It was VERY comfortable right out of the box, absolutely NO brake in required.
The seat cost me over $900, but was well worth the money.
The others I tried were test seats to me, bought used from Ebay, then sold back on
Ebay after finding out they just weren't for me. I did not loose any money doing it this way.
The corbin also has an extra layer of foam (needed for the extra stitching I had done)
Totally custom seat in all ways. All Mercedes leather, seat and sides, scooped out
some of the foam to lower me a bit, flamed stitched, etc.
I really like this seat, and my back is toast so I needed the most comfortable seat I could find.
The stock Corbin was just not for me, WAY too hard for my crumbling spine.
I'm cheap, and for me to fork out $900 for a seat was hard to swallow, but it turned out
to be one of the best accessories I have ever bought for the bike.
Of course, just after I bought it they dropped all their prices by $200 or so!
