Default no brake lights???

I was doing a quick check before leaving work the other morning and noticed my brake lights and running lights were out. Pretty scary because I have to do a 5 mile stretch on I-95 at 6AM with a bunch of half asleep people rushing to work. I checked and the hazards worked so I turned them on.

I haven't had much time to check it yet but I did pull the seat and look around. I see no bad wires. Everything is plugged in. I have power to the orange wire at the plug that goes under the fender. When I put the turn signal on to check for power the brake light and both turns signals flash. Thats as far as I got.

I have a brake/run module in the mix, and a BAL tailight. Plan is to remove the module and put a stock tailight on and check some more.

the bike is an 08 Ultra. Like I mentioned, it has a run/brake module and the BAL tailight. I plugged in the tourpak lights and have nothing there either. I guess I will have to check the shop manual for wiring diagrams, unless someone has one they can upload???

The wiring disappears under the fender on it's way to the tail lights, so check that for damage.

Yep, likely fuse.

Did you lower the rear of the bike?
Are you heavy and riding 2-up with luggage?
Tail light wire loom runs under the fender.
Very easy for tire to rub against wires.

Enter your VIN and look under Vehicle Document for the Wiring Diagram

This is not correct operation. If I am understanding correctly what you wrote.

If you engaged a turn signal and both turn signals plus the brake light flashes, that is not correct.

I would be looking at the module you spoke of.

Often when something works in a very strange way, but works, it is not a fuse but a ground problem.
