Default 2011 FLHTK Ultra limited

I have a 2011 Ultra with 9k miles. It hums in the rear when I corner. I know that it's the rear tire and I can live with it until next year when I'll change it.

The real problem I'm having is a loud banging in the rear when I hit a bump in the road like a depressed manhole cover or a shallow pothole. I bangs just once when it happens and it's like the suspension is bottoming out, but I'm not hitting the hole that hard. I do have 1" lowered Road King shocks but I don't feel they're the reason. I haven't found anything loose on it. Any ideas?

Just a guess... But sounds like you have the H-D air shocks with low or no air.

check your exhaust mounts. Often the rear rubber grommets for the exhaust hangers work loose. Result is that it clanks when you hit a bump.

I have to pump up the rear air shocks to about 35 psi on my 2010 FLHTK. I weigh 200 and ride solo. I determined that pressure by pumping it up (originally had 15 psi) by 5 psi and testing it. I fortunately have a bump just down the road to test. I think you'll find that more pressure actually smooths and softens the ride.

Do NOT use gas station air. Buy the proper air pump or risk blowing up your shocks. Like this one or OEM.
