shake or missfire on decel.

shake or missfire on decel.
Here is one that no one seems to figure out where I am. When decelerating down to a stop whether I'm coming down hard or easy, the bike will shake violently then just smooth out. Sometimes it wont do it at all. I have no noises and clangs or bangs but every other time it will do it. Sitting at a stop sign it will shake then suddenly smooth out. I have replaced the front motor mount, as it had a small crack in it. Should have left it alone since it started in and around the time I did that, but I had a plug go bad on the rear cylinder a month or two back and it shook exactly the same way. I have pulled the plugs out immediately after this happens thinking perhaps it is misfiring but they are both exactly a light tan and neither are wet. Could it be a fuel delivery issue but why on deceleration only. The bike starts perfect, pulls hard and doesn't do any of this going down the road, just when I come to a stop sign and not every single time but most of them. I have double checked the front mount to make sure its in properly as well. Urethane. Help

I'm almost convinced its a cylinder misfiring. Today after a good ride, I pulled up to a stop sign and the bike shook hard. Then as fast as it did that, it stopped and was smooth as ever at idle. WTF is causing this. When it shakes and I touch the throttle its fine and revs great. Doesn't miss under power and starts perfect. Just when I come to a stop sign. Clutch is in and no drag when it does this. Anyone got a suggestion?

Not trying to hijack your post but my bike is doing the exact same thing. I just changed my front motor mount tonight thinking it was the culprit. It didn't change anything. It started this last fall before I put it up for the winter. Now it's worse than it was last year. I'm hoping someone can help both of us. Just a fyi, my bike is 2005 Electra glide standard, EFI, Screamin eagle slip ons, V&H true duals, K&N air cleaner, Stage 1 tune from Harley, E3 spark plugs, everything else is stock.

pitsingerk, we are close to the same set up. Mine is an 88, power commander 5, kerker slips and high flow air filter. I just put a set of S&s 510 cams in it but it was doing it before the cams. I'm trying different maps although the one I have been using is the same map I used prior to the shake. I'm willing to try anything. One minutes its shaking the whole bike, then other times smooth.

I would check the spark plug wire going to the front cylinder. I have seen several bikes where this wire will rub on the bottom of the gas tank until it shorts out. I have installed some split loom over my wires where they are prone to rubbing on the underside of the tank. I hope this helps.

I installed a TTS tuner + new headers and slip ons. The TTS with a proper tune and all issues disappeared.
