Default Front turn signals won't blink or work with flasher

Just noticed my front signals are lit but won't flash when the turn signals are on. I also checked the four way flashers and the rear work but the front don't. I just changed out all the bulbs when I added smoked lenses a few days ago. I installed 1157's in the front and 1156's in the rear. I applied dialectic grease on all four bulbs. Any idea what the problem could be ? Thanks.

Year and model?

You might try putting the old bulbs back in and see if they will flash.
If they do, then slowly add the new bulbs.
See what happens.

Pull the front and place the old bulbs back in and try again. Single-filament bulbs like the 1156's have caused many headaches. Ran into this same issue last year.

I think the 1157s should only be installed one way, has a high and low side nub but Ive seen installed incorrectly on cars and cause this.

Stupid keyboard! Front are the dual-filament 1157's - they may have one filament bad causing your problems.

Found the problem, to much dialectic grease. I was tired the other day when I changed out the bulbs and evidently went to heavy with the dialectic grease. I pulled them to test my old bulbs and immediately noticed the excess grease. Tested the old bulbs and they worked fine. Wiped the new bulbs down a little bit reinstalled and all is good. Thanks for your comments.

I was just getting ready to say that, too much dialectic grease can case more problems than does good. Glad you found the problem my friend.

Yep, dielectric grease is an insulator. It's meant to seal, lubricate and insulate against stray or high voltage leakage. You can put a thin film oc contacts because the physical connections are enough to brake the film and allow conductivity. Too much and yoy won't break through the film.
