The special doesn't appeal to me at all with the exception of the stretched bags. They took off what I would pay to put back on... and blacked out what I wouldn't. I have looked at them.... lol maybe I will just have one of mine painted and save some cash.
Ya. I like the RK a lot. Thought about getting one just to beat around town on. I don't get why they pulled off part of what makes it cool. Give me a shout when you come up this way. Well have a beer.

The denim is the clear over the paint.
Indy by me took his fairing to a painter. Bought the base coat clear coat from Harley. When the painter sprayed the clear it dried denim. Dealership ate that paint job.
My 08 is dark blue denim (only year I think they did the color) and I love it. I don't see it a lot and get compliments on it all the time. It was a pain to find someone to match the paint for the rear fender and extended bags when I got them, but I'd consider another denim in a heart beat as long as it was a color I really liked.
I got my black denim street glide last year, wouldn't hesitate to get another one. I actually went back and forth for a long time on it. I loved the look, but heard horror stories on how easy it was to scratch it, how soft the paint was, etc. But after a year, I love it And, I'm glad I pulled the trigger on it
Thought about it for the bagger but dealer mentioned and I started noticing the shiny spots from bugs on peoples fairings. Dyna was fine cause it didn't have the big front end to catch the bugs but decided on vivid for the bagger.
i had a 2010 roadglide for 4 years, can't get a much bigger front end than that and i never noticed any shiny spots on the fairing. clean it properly and you won't have any problems.

here's an idea. you don't like the color, don't buy it. a few posts up was from a guy who had the sand camo and he loved it. i wouldn't necessarily buy it, but i'm not in the business of making decisions for everyone. i figure they're paying the note, they can get what they want. and just for the record, i thought my black denim was awesome. i would buy it again.
I had a '14 Street bob in black Denim. It looks pretty good, but I wouldn't and didn't do it again. I didn't like how I could only clean it with certain stuff, and how you can't really touch it up etc. Honestly it didn't take long for me to just get kind of tired of the color as well. Some still love their denim, but it wasn't for me
What he said. Also, too many people doing bikes, cars, trucks in satin black. I like being different.
