Been following this thread for weeks now in anticipation for when i get mine. I'm trading in my wife's sportster and my '15 Street Bob for a brand new '18 RKS in black, seen loads of inspiration for customisation.
I'm weighing up which upgrades I should invest in straight off the bat. Pretty sold on the wind splitter shield, mounting hardware and sissy bar/rack, Daymaker and stage 1 so far. Bars and seat will have to be looked at at a later date.
My question is coming from riding a stage 2 Street Bob how does the RKS compare? should I go straight in with a cam upgrade whilst its still at the dealers or will a nice Stage 1 tune + (for example)SE Heavy Breather and slip ons cut the mustard for the first few thousand miles? Also should i get headers? my local dealers suggest this isn't necessary...
Pretty sure I will get the cam upgrade at some stage regardless but my pockets will be pretty empty if I get the basic stuff previously mentioned, just trying to hear other peoples opinions of how they have found the riding experience coming from a Dyna or equivalent before handing over all my hard earned cash!!

I also had a Slim before, you cannot compare the M8 with the vtwin, it's another world even without a stage 1

Nice thanks for the advice guys. Just had some good news that I can get my new bike next month rather than waiting till the new year which is a massive result!
Looks like I'll stick with the stage 1 initially then, any input on getting a full exhaust or just the slip ons? The shop guy says the header pipes are plenty big enough on the RKS but I'm clueless on this coming from a Dyna with short shots! Trying to save money on labour costs down the line, they are giving me a good deal and said any upgrades they will do at cost price if I get them done before collection...
