I had my bike prepared for a windshield, but we couldn't get one to fit because of the 16" handlebars. In the end I didn't really care, I do as little highway riding as possible. I get bored after 15 minutes. I much prefer taking the back roads, twisties, mountain roads, etc. Happiness isn't around the corner. Happiness is the corner.
The Freedom Shield fits 16" bars. I've seen quite a few on the forums with one. Give John a call. He'll advise you correctly. And they're cheap, I think...around $250.00!

Thanks for the input guys--what size (height) are the stock RKS handlebars?

The stock mini apes are 9". A lot of people complain about them.
I recommend taking an RKS for a spin before committing to a purchase.

Just doing some cosmetic mods to my 2020 Road King Special.. Since I'm not messing with a detachable windshield right now due to the whole covid 19 messing with the Aviation Industry I've had some TLOW time from GE. I ended up taking a trip to my local lowes and went to the fastener aisle and rummaged threw some drawers and found some Push Fasteners in gloss black. The part number is 138260 and that actual designator says PUSHFSTNR PNL RTNR GM. They come two to a package for a whopping .86. All I had to do was trim both sides of the vertical fastener to remove the ribbed section. And I removed the pointed end where it slim downs. After that it was just a quick push and they blend in nicely. I can post some pics tomorrow but just wanted to share. You think Harley could manage some 5/16-18 powdercoated black fasteners. Hopefully after things calm back down I can eventually get a Memphis Shades Road Warrior setup ordered. I tried to order direct from Memphis Shades since they're not too far from me but currently they have a backlog of roughly a month.

Finally moved my aux lights from the crash bar to the headlight using the street glide kit.

Im glad you posted this. I want to do something similar and I was worried that style wouldn't fit. I am wondering if I can use the acorn bolts with the bushings and keep my windshield. I've seen people do it.
