Default 16 in apes

Anyone install 16 in apes on their RKS themselves? I ordered the NAMZ plug and play wire connections. Just wondering if anyone had any issues with the install or tips.

After the wife complain that the stock RKS seat was too uncomfortable and narrow, got a nice Ultra seat from craigslist. Inexpensive upgrade. still keeping the stock one for solo rides. may get the Touring Low profile for that.

Didnt know they made one as well just looked back at your pictures I didnt notice it wasnt the oem style.. Interesting says it fits 17 king but not 17 king special. looking at your bike doesnt seem they are correct

This does seem more practical than the OEM route.

You can either go the CVO style mounts witht he CVO style Freedom Shield or you can use the OEM Road King Windshield mounts.

I've done both and prefer the OEM style, the Windshield doesn't sit as far back with the OEM setup.

I bought OEM style mounting hardware on ebay and had it powder coated.

This is what the OEM mounting hardware looks like:

they fit the Special as well.

I had them then took them off, they stick out to far forward for my taste. I also did the Ultra mounts (you need the older style as the newer style has a notch you have to grind done to make them sit flush).

I found the OEM style bar looks the best for me.
