add some highway pegs to the crash bar it will give u a way to stretch out. I went with a different seat for looks but I sat on my dads 13 triglide and the seat was too far forward and upright. cost effective - my input is to find a used seat that allows u to sit back a couple of inches. 1-200 bucks. then if the bars are still to close go with some bars I would look at the wo 578's or 579's with cable looking at $500 ish. if legs are cramped add the highway pegs about $1-200

Head over to the dealership. They have DEMO seats. Put the tall boy and every other seat they have on your bike try it. Then you know without spending a dime if it will help in your case.

Lots of good suggestions. At 6'1" I put 12" apes on my Roadie, way, way more comfortable then stock. Never liked having my hands right above my knees. For the long haul I prefer highway pegs, lets me stretch out, I always recommend these:

Get them with the kicker peg. When not in use fold up under the board. Gives me lot more options for moving my feet around. Also what I wanted, also coming from a Wide Glide, was to be able to rotate the heel of my foot down. I felt the floor boards had my ankle in the wrong position. This peg lets me be back in the position I am used to, goes away when I am around town. Good luck.

I really noticed no issue with getting my foot down or bringing it up from a stop. The 3/4 inch out is not really noticeable at all looking at the bike, but since the boards are now almost an inch further away from the bike it makes it seem that the boards are wider or that you have more room to move your feet from side to side

Thanks everyone. All great information! I ended up ordering some 13" Apes from Custom 6. They have a great video on installation, so looking forward to trying out some Apes!

Tall boy seats suck. They move you more up than back. My experience anyway.

I have loved my Corbin seat which moved me 2" back and down some. Plus I can ride all day.

If you search through my posts in January you'll find pics of my RGU with 12" Yaffe bars.
