many riders are ok with the stock mufflers with a decatted header- for the twincam about $150 on ebay or DIY-

that is a step towards performance gains and 1/2 or 1/3rd the cost of premium slip ons

As for the slip on's. I went with Jones Full Boar slash-downs and 2.5" baffles:

The Jones Full Boar's are great, I installed them on my 12 FLHTCU. Great rumble at high RPM's, not stupid loud at slower speeds. 3 different baffles....... 1.5, 2.0, 2.5". Pick your poision. Hard to beat $214 for a quality muffler.....
Jones is a Tn company who dabbles primarily in performance car mufflers. I couldn't be happier at this point. The quality is there!
