Default Gas gauge disassembly....

Hello all. I am gonna plug the hole for my gas gauge with something and was doing my research and found out people get the light still working on the speedometer and are able to get rid of the guage by taking the gauge apart and leaving the circuit board. I was wondering if anyone can point me to how to take it apart correctly, or maybe a thread where someone did it. Thanks in advance!!
