Default Changing cables and brake lines

Changing bars, have to change cables and brake lines.

I found what I want from Magnum but their site says that if your bike is ABS you have to change the mid line and the upper line. I don't understand this. Shouldn't I just need the longer upper to reach?

For whatever reason, Magnum sells the mid line, it reaches from the ABS unit to the triple tree, then the upper goes from the triple tree to the master cylinder. I guess it would make it a little cheaper to go to taller bars later on, if you changed your mind...
