Default 21" wheel on Ultra Limited

I'm thinking about selling or trading my '16 breakout and buying a 2017 Ultra Limited. Most of my rides are 2up and at least all day rides. The Breakout isn't really very practical for me.
I really want a Ultra Limited, but want to do a 21" wheel up front. Is it possible to do that without giving up ride quality around town and on the highway. I read some old threads and there hasn't been much discussion over the last year or 2.
Pics and insight is appreciated...

I ride with a group and most of us have gone to the 21 front wheels. Have not noticed a difference in handling. It will lift your front end up so you will have to lower the front end with a lowering kit. Aside from that the most noticeable difference is that you will feel every crack and pot hole more than with the stock wheel and tire due to the shorter and stiffer side wall. Hope this helps.

I have not noticed any difference with my 21in. It looks and rides great and was one of my best upgrades. I do agree with Hades02, I keep my eyes on the road for pot holes!

Feel is subjective, but to me with a 21" on my bike the front seemed "lighter" in steering and seemed to fall into turns easier. To me this was an improvement in handling.

Will the oem front fender work?
I really love my breakout, it is blast to ride around. Just can't even pack a jacket... Even if I waited until I could afford to have both, not sure if I'd ride it enough to justify regular maintenance costs. Really liking the idea of the Limited.

No you will have to get a fender bracket to raise the fender.

Thank you. I choose the Ride Wright 21in "Omega". It's a tube. I researched every brand and read everything I could....I did not read anything bad about Ride Wright and I personally didn't want to take a chance on anything else. Bad Luck is never far behind me.
