Default High mileage effects price of bike???

I recently bought a new bike but kept my other bike, 2012 Limited. I have since decided to attempt selling it. Problem is it has 97,000 miles on it. The bike is in near perfect condition with two years of warranty on it. Recent overhaul with cams and lifters.

My question is what could I expect to get for it in a private sale?

I have put lots of bells and whistles on it and would not think twice about a cross country road trip. I just cannot justify two bikes . Know what you all will say about that one..........

Anyways, any input will be appreciated

The only problem with selling a high mileage bike is that there are plenty of low mileage bikes for sale. I wouldn't expect to get more than low blue book for a high mileage bike, no matter how good the condition really is. I tend to put a lot of miles on my bikes and sold several with 100,000+ miles and that's all I was able to get, even though they were well maintained and in excellent condition.

NADA shows a low price of just above 10,000. The miles will affect your pricing for sure, then finding someone wanting to get a bike with those miles is another problem. Put it up for sale and see who you find.

You do have to factor in the use you got out of it. Thats worth something to you.And like deadhawg said plenty of low mileage used bikes for sale.

Brain fart nvm,
I would keep it. If you've had it that long it must have some sentimental value?

If you traded every year you would likely be out the same amount anyway. You would probably loses $5000 to $6000 each time you trade.

^^^ Exactly!!!

What makes you think it wouldn't?? Doesn't matter how shiny it is or how much TLC you gave it @ the end of the day when somebody goes to buy a bike like that and yours has 90,000 miles and the same exact bike has 9,000 in what world would you expect to pay the same price??

I think the OP knows its going to bring less money than a low mileage bike.

I don't know what you can get for it, but when I was trading in my 2011 RK with a little over 30K on it the first dealership I went to didn't want anything to do with it. The one I traded it into still has it over a year later.

5-6 yr. old bike with 100,000 is worth about $4500.
