Riding with 6x9 saddlebag speaker lids
i was told that having 6x9 speakers in the saddlebag lids doesn't really make much of a difference for overall sound quality clearity etc at highway speeds. So my question is to anyone who has saddlebag speaker lids, if there's a noticeable difference at hwy speeds?

I have Saddlebag 6x9's. I have the Biketronics sound system and Pioneer 6x9's (check out my signature). To be honest, at highway or riding speeds, you WILL NOT notice them. For me, my fairing and lower speakers are so powerful, that I can't hear anything from the rear.
With that, while in my garage or outside somewhere, they thump hard.
If I knew back then, 2 years ago what I know now, would I have gone through the expense and headache of installing saddlebag speakers: HELL NO!!!
If you get them, make sure that your speakers are waterproof. Otherwise washing your bike is going to be a chore. And, you better have good covers for WHEN you get caught in the rain.
You bike, your money, your choice. Just do what's practical, for you!

I would add that at slower speeds maybe up to 55 or so I can hear them, at highway speeds not so much. The wife hears them at highway speeds though. If you ride a pssanger the rear speaker do make a big difference for them. I would say that I would do them again, actually I have done them twice for the same bike. Once on my stock bags with pre Rushmore lids and them I bought speaker lids again for my Rushmore style aftermarket bags. It's worth it to me for the rear sound since I don't run with a touring pack unless on a big road trip. At slower speeds it gives a surround sound effect.

I'm with Kryingame. I had biketronics 7p1, with 2180 amp in the fairing and loved it. Just installed hogtune lids, 4180 amp and bt 6x9's, last night. Sounds awesome in the garage, and at slow speeds. But on the highway, I can't tell they are back there. I travel a lot, not much in town riding. So I'm wishing I would have spent the $$$ elsewhere.
