This isn't a new issue. A ton of people have faced this question and some of them have resolved it. My simple question is - what have other people done to solve the lean? lower their front springs? extend the kickstand? Both? If the springs were lowered in front, what did they buy? I'd appreciate hearing from someone that has actually experienced this and handled it. From the looks of the photos under everyone's signature, all I see are stock front ends.

You'd get some Progressive lowering springs, but then you've just compounded the problem with the Jiffy stand.
A -1 Jiffy stand will correct the lean angle for the lowered frame.

I cut my springs about a half inch......I think we we flipped the springs and I added a slightly heavier drag specialties fork oil.....(we may not have flipped them...I cant remember, I'll ask my friend....did it at his custom shop)

I want to get the progressive replacements. I just haven't dug into it yet. (I think some folks get the progressive stock kit and cut the spacers to get the height they want, look around the progressive site at the pics....I may do that)

it's not difficult. do you have a manual? It will help if you have never done it.
Newer touring have different size forks so be year specific.

Thanks for the link and video. This is what I needed. When I get in touch with Progressive Suspension, I hope they will be able to tell me which set of springs will be needed when I give them the size of my new wheel. Appreciate the information.

Right now when you ride, it probably feels "lighter" in the front. There are a few different ways to lower it to even it up if you want. The progressive monosprings will still affect how it handles due to lowering and the spring rate will feel less stiff and make the front not feel as "heavy", but the handling geometry is the same no matter how you lower it.

Study rake and trail.....sport/race bikers have been play'n with that for years....
Changing the wheel\tire size does not always change the rake and trail. If the overall height of the tire isn't different, then it didn't change. When I moved up from a 16" wheel to a 19", I measured every dimension of the wheels looking for differences. The height was nearly identical and we could not detect a difference in the axle height.

If you turn your bars to the right when parked it helps a little. Increased kickstand lean with larger front wheel-photo157.jpg

agreed....21 usually raises about an inch. I kicked around doing an 18 or 19....I just like the way 21's look.....matched my build better. I am surprised with the ride....rides good, just a little too tall in the front yet, little light still. I have to bring mine down a bit more.....and yes...leans a little more on the kick stand.

I have a 21 front and 17 rear at stock height without any jiffy stand issue?? Might be able to get a mount wedge rather than longer stand if it bothers ya... 21 is all about looks, not good for handling, unless all ya do is go n a straight line...

Let me guess, you didn't major in math at MIT.
