As far as the Pam suggestion: I did some research a while back about this and it's a definate no no....Pam is a cooking oil. It'll just cook the little buggers right into your bike. We finally got some rain here in Florida and not only did I take a towel out and soak it and lay it on the bike in differant areas and found it to work,....but once the rain came and soaked the towels even further,....afterwards I went oiut and they came off like nothing I've ever seen. I'm totally sold on this method now, and I love the price. The only thing is getting into the little cracks and crevased where the differant parts are.....the only thing I can figure is to remove some of the parts to clean properly....I'll see how much drive I have to get the bike just right....

Good Luck All.....

Somebody needs to make a thin disposable pre-cut plastic sheet that covers your faring, lowersand or windshield. You know, the stuff they use on new electronics parts likeLED lenses.Just apply before your ride and then peel off and dispose of when you get home.

I also use the towel method. The warmer the water the better. My father in law swears by it, but he soaks the towelsthen puts them in a big bowl in the microwave for a few minutes to get them nice and toasty. Not necessary in my opinion.

It's funny ,....I did alot of research on these little critters that fly united, and contrary to alot of people they were'nt invented in a lab at a Florida college so as to kill fire ants,....the truth is they actually started in Texas, and Oklahoma and have been migrating east ever since and now they are heading north and are in S. Carolina, and Georgia,.....no offense to those 2 states but the sooner they get up there the happier a lot of Floridians will be. I have tried the wet towels and it works GREAT! Now for a cure for the cracks and crevasses throughout the engine. I think I'm going to have to get the wrenches out and remove some of the chrome parts to get them out of there.....but hey,....I'm on my *** with my bikes more than on my feet. I ask myself sometimes,.....why Greg?.....and the only answer I have is "It's a Harley" they deserve it.

Well, wherever they come from (hell I think), they are more than welcome to go back! I guess if they go far enough north, they can puck-up "W" and return him to Texas! lol
