Default 2009 road king question...

I'm looking at possibly buying a 2009 RK. My question is did they put the 103" motor on that bike in 09? I didn't think they put the 103 until at least 2011.

for 09, the 103 was available as part of the power-pac option ( about $2000) it included oil cooler and compression releases.
my 96" works fine- I'm glad I saved the $2k !

After further research and a hand full of phone calls, i found out that in 2009 the road king police models came factory with the 103.

They also put the 103 in the 09 tri-glides.

This is an example of a touring vin from the service manual. The 5 with a circle around it pointing to the 4 is the engine size. A 4 is a 96. If your frame and engine have a 4 then it was a 96 when it left the factory.

If your RK is a Police model then the 7th character of the VIN would be "M" = 103 CI
