So those with the scorpion which springs are you running?

 

I just finished up the install with the scorpion basket. It looks like a real nice peice. I reassemble it without the damper spring and seat like it was before for testing purposes. I also scuffed (lightly) the steel plates before putting it back together. I had been running m1 v twin 20/50 in it and it has always squawked on a hard launch before the clutch lever was completely released. So after the new basket and scuffing the plates I filled it up with m1 4t 10/40. Still squawked! Drained it again and filled it up with atf fluid, still squawked!
Tore it back down and installed the damper spring and seat, filled it up with the m1 4t fluid again and I will test it tomorrow.
I can't help but wonder if it's the thinner fiber plate that makes the noise? The one that goes in over the damper spring. I have extra full size fiber plates I could replace the thinner plate with. If it still squawks with the damper spring I will pull it apart one more time and try it.

Try Mobil 1 syn ATF, with 4 ounces of Lubeguard highly friction modified ATF supplement. The LG keeps the Mobil 1 from being TOO grabby.

ridedaddy, how was drilling out the rivets of the gearset from the old basket? Going to maybe tackle that tomorrow. Hopefully my stuff shows up this week.
