Default Las Vegas Riding

I'm headed out to Vegas at the end of March for a conference. Going to go out a day early and rent a bike for the day. What is the best possible ride around that area? Again, I'll only have the bike for the day - sun up to sunset - so it needs to be local enough that I can ride it. Death Valley, Hover Dam, suggestions....?

Thanks all.

Ok I just did this in October . Its Called the valley of fire State park!!!! I rented a bike from Las Vegas Harley, they are near the welcome to Las Vegas sign on the strip. They have written instructions for a few rides that they will give you if you ask.. You head out on the highway 100 yards from the dealer heading north { I15} I think. Then you get off exit 75 about 40 min ride. Make a right this road it will put you right into the state park.. Take the road all the way to the end make a right just keep going, you will pass lake Mead and right into the Hoover Dam. Then you could just take the high way back to Vegas which would be lass than a hour ride back. Total miles 160. Its a beautiful ride and it shows how beautiful the desert is!!!

I would reserve a bike before going , also Vegas Harley only gives you 200 mile with the rental. This ride is only 160 miles. And the dealership opens at 8am. For some reason they told me on the phone they open at 9 am. Have a great trip!!!... If you google map vegas you will see the road I'm talking about... swifty

We rented an Ultra last May in Vegas from Escape Eagles. The owner is a really nice guy. We rode a big loop to Route 66 and back but that may be a lot for you. It was a long day, approx. 350'ish miles. I would ride to Valley of Fire, Red Rock Canyon, or Mt. Charleston. You can do a couple of those in a day. It will probably be snowing at Mt. Charleston in March, scratch that. You could ride to Oatman, AZ via Route 66, take 93 down and 95 back and go across Hoover Dam, maybe a 250 mile trip?

Here's me in Oatman, AZ on the rental:

If you want to stay close the Red Rock Canyon and scenic loop are worthy, From Hoover Dam Lakeshore Road was enjoyable but not too long, Oatman is cool. Havasu ... Depends on how far you want to go. Death Valley is doable but a long day.

At least you are going before it gets so dang hot out there. Was there in June a few stars back and every day was 116 degrees! Screw dry heat it was like an oven!

Death Valley will be too far to truly appreciate. You can make it in a day though.

I'd do Valley of Fire

As others have said, Valley of Fire. Be sure to get off the bike at Mouse' Tank and hike thru the narrow canyon. The ancient native petroglyphs are worth the walk.
