Default Neutral Safety Switch

If it's been posted before, I apologize. Is there a way to bypass this?

The bike has to be in neutral or the engine will not start! If you're in first gear, and you hit the starter button, nothing happens. That is unless you hold the clutch in, then it will start in gear.

Are you talking about the clutch lever interface on the 07? It is a good thing, many people have hit the starter button while in gear and had the bike lurch forward. But to bypass it and crank in gear all you have to do is pull in the clutch lever.

..why would you want to start in gear w/o clutch pulled in other than having a broken clutch cable.
