Default Shock fitment question??

Brother has a 2015 Limited and is interested in replacing the rear air shocks with the new shocks that are on the 2017 touring bikes which can be dialed in to adjust firmness. Anyone here know if the shocks from a 2017 Street Glide would fit a 2015 Limited. Tks.

The shocks used on all rubber mounts since around 1980 will interchange.

Reason I questioned this is I checked Shock part numbers for 2015 Limited vs Streetglide and they different.

Because the Street glide uses the LOW PROFIL shock (believe it is 12 inch) where the Limited uses the standard height (13 inch) shock.

Wink

You asked if they will fit, to which the answer is yes! Limited shocks are 13" tall, SG ones are shorter, around 12" tall. It is common to swap the two lengths between models. If your brother wants the same length as his current ones, then pass by on the SG ones. There are probably similar spec longer versions available. You may find the H-D website helpful, as they offer alternative shocks and give details - go to the Shop tab and enter details of your brother's bike.

Indeed - keep his current shocks and swap them back when he sells on his bike for another!
