Default HD Premium Ride Hand Adjustable Shocks

Who out there is using these shocks and what is your opinion of them. Are they a noticible improvement over the stock air shocks? I have a 2013 RK, am 6'2" 230lbs, and am looking for a little more comfortable ride. I have tried adjustinhg the pressure in the air shocks but the ride is still a little jarring. I can buy a set of the premium rides online for around $450. Is there better options out there in the same price range. Thanks for any input you may have.

I put a set on the HD premium hand adjustable shocks this last summer and found them noticeably better than the stock air shocks on my '12 RK Police. The rear suspension is now way better than the front. Now I will be investing in a suspension upgrade for the front this year.

I used the air shocks more than happily for over 100k on various bikes.

I got a set of the 13" hand jobs for almost free...( so i can;t compare cost/benefit)

I had back surgery so extra concerned about stuff now as a I age.

the shocks give much better ride quality.

i run about 215 or so with riding gear- add 20 pounds of crap in the saddlebags- tourpak off. 2009 FLHTC

They're better than the air shocks and also better than the Progressive's as well. Not quite up to par with the Ohlin's and other $800+ shocks.

Over all you'll be happy I think. Make sure you get the 13" version.

I've got mine adjusted where I like them, and now I never even think about my rear suspension. What better comment could I have?

Now, unfortunately, this is totally true:

I've decided I'm not putting any more significant money into my '15. I'm changing to the SE fork oil, and hopefully that will be enough to keep me satisfied until I buy an '18 in August of '18 when the '19s are coming out.

Are the version installed on the Streetglide Special the same thing? There are sets for sale on the forum for $250

The 13" very rarely go for sale in the classifieds.

Get 13" only. 12" is a waste of money, not much better than the air.

Many have drunk the Ohlins kool aid and they are good if you have a $1000 bill to spare.
The Progressive 444 13" long ride shocks are my choice and will improve ride and in your price range.
They are better then the HD
