Default not sure what size trailer I need

I am looking for a trailer for my 04 Road King Classic. I am not sure if an 8 foot trailer is long enough, any ideas or experiences would help. Thanks Jon

Well...if I was wondering about that, I'd start with a tape measure. I would probably measure from the leading edge of the bike to, oh, about the middle of the seat or just past the engine. That would tell me where most of weight is. Then since I would want that part of the bike ahead of the axle, I would take my measurement and trailer shop accordingly.

The shortest trailer that will hold your bike may not be the one you want. If the bike's weight is too far back your trailer will have a tendency to lift at the tongue. (Not a good thing.)

Or just say "what the hell" and back it on.

An enclosed 6' X 8' will work. It would be tight but your Road King will fit in their. Even with a tour pack on my dad has one so I know first hand it will fit. It's for Sale too $1500.00 and it's yours.

I drove the bike philadelphia to key west last year 3,400 miles round trip, to myrtle beach 2 years ago, so I love the long rides, but we are going out west this year and the wife does not have enough vacation time. The trailer is the only option, would ride if possible but not this year.

Sometimes you just gotta do what you gotta do. I borrowed a trailer from one of my good friends dad a few weeks ago , it was a 6x12 enclosed. Something smaller would probablly work but I personally would not want anything smaller. IMO

An 8' V nose is more than enough. The V gives you an extra 2' inside to be able to tuck the front tire into and it is more aerodynamic. I have about 118" from front to back and my scoot is about 96". There is plenty of room to fit my scoot inside my 8' V nose.
