I have the collapsible bag you mentioned. Very pleased with it. Attaches firmly with the 4 Velcro straps, but I still use a cargo net over it...just in case. The net also makes it more difficult for a ne'er-do-well to open it up and swipe something while I'm in the whiz-a-torium at the gas station.

Though the collapsible properties arent a priority for you, when they say it is "collapsible," they really mean it. It will collapse about halfway down like an accordion, and is secured at that reduced height by a zipper along the bottom that goes clear around the bag. It looks tidy and neat when collapsed. Not all wrinkled or squished when hauling a small amount of stuff. The photos of it on the HD website show it when it is collapsed.

The bag itself isn't waterproof, but it has a rain cover that does the job. I've ridden with it during rains that would have made Noah nervous and animals start lining up two by two, and the contents stayed dry as Melba toast. The rain cover adds another layer of theft protection, too. Yeah...I'm paranoid about theft. What can I say? I did give the bag a couple coats of water-proofing spray in case I ever got caught in the rain with the cover off. (No...the spray doesn't provide any anti-theft properties. ) I generally put items in it that I don't need on a regular basis so I don't have to take the net and cover off very often.

There may be other bags that perform just as well as this one, but it works great for me.

I recently went through the process of picking a tour pack rack bag also. I didn't want a huge one as the lid can't (shouldn't) support much weight.
I settled on the T-Bag King Bootcase as it fits inside the tourpack perfectly and if need be - it fits/attaches to the rack like it was designed for it.

I have the saddlemen t-bag duffel bag for solo....

http://www.saddlemen.com/ts3200-delu...-bag-universal

And the saddlemen back seat/sissy bar bag for when we ride 2 up...

http://www.saddlemen.com/br1800-back...-bag-universal

Either one can be used solo, but the duffel bag one holds more...just depends on the trip....if I need, I can carry them both solo.

Both great bags and easy to mount and dismount.

I have the saddleman express.
Good bag for the price, and can fit 2 helmets (not full faced)
For what I use it for, it works out great!
Here's the factory website.
