RE: FLHTCU License Plate relocation
Softbrake.com offers a below the tailight license plate relocator for $60; it's a metal sheet with some bends that allow mounting using the bolts that attach the rear turn signal bar to the rear fender; J&P cycles sells a replacement brake light lens with the clear pointing down to light the plate below the tailight--cost will be under $100.
It's been a while since I installed the HD relocator mentioned by Texas725 and removed the permanent TP rack in favor of solo and two up detachable racks, but doesn't the license plate bracket support the rear of the TP bracket which is attached to the bike with single bolts at the front on each side of the fender? If you remove the license plate bracket, can the rear of the TP be supported? I guess you guys plan to leave the license plate bracket in place; just move the license plate below the tailight?

Something along this line?

There are a handful of options to move the plate below the tail light if so desired.
Here you go, three differnet locations on the same bike.

RE: FLHTCU License Plate relocation
You can save a bunch of cash by buying the individual parts(the chrome rear fender tip is normally not used on the ultra), rather than the kit, and also mailorder online from someone like zanottis. I have the part numbers at home, but am on the road till friday.
Bullet Rear Turn Signal Bar and License Plate Relocation Kit
Accent the long and lean look of your Touring bike. This complete kit moves your license plate from the support bar to the rear fender tail for a true custom look. The kit includes a Bullet Turn Signal Bar with integrated down-lighting for the license plate, bullet turn signals, chrome rear fender tip, and decorative trim to cover the original license plate mounting holes.

RE: FLHTCU License Plate relocation
I live in Australia and I spent money and time to relocate the number plate from the lower guard to under the top box. Our Australian Design Rules say it has to be seen from a distance to the rear and the side at a deturmined angle. We have an ugly bracket with a small clear lens above. It bolts in place of the lower dress chrome tipon the guard. It leaves the chrome empty under the top box(looks silly). I had to buy thelower chrome trim and a heritage style stop light with the clearabove the brake lamp. Funny isint it.
