My vote is for the Limited. IMHO factory installs are superior to local dealers, does save you bucks and increases used value down the road.

I'd be more concerned there is a dispute over the price of the difference of the two models.
I've never defended my actions by holding up a phone or tablet to show the overwhelming support for my decisions. So if the family is not in the position to throw money at a purchase, don't. I'd respect a guy more that wasn't impulsive and passed on buying himself a toy over an impulsive person that did but couldn't afford to pay for kids needs and wants (boy they're expensive), take family vacations (they'll form great memories and raise your stock), or fix the house and cars (inevitable).

Wait and save. Or don't. Whenever you walk past or throw a leg over <enter your bike here> you want to be happy. If your wife isn't, you truly won't be either.

Several salesman tricks. Put her on the show room and ask her to pick a color she likes. More than likely, she will pick one of the Limited's and that will give her some say in it and she'll take ownership of it as well. As some one else mentioned, explain the difference in the wet head's and the oil cooled and let her know that the limited will be less heat blowing the passengers ( her) legs. Show her the shiny chrome wheels on the limited as opposed to the dull aluminum ones on the ultra. Women love bling. Put some math on her. The difference is about 4 % when your paying $25,000, what's another 4% to get what you want. Roughly $15 a month on a payment. Tell her she's complaining about the cost of a 12 pack. Last suggestion you have to be careful with because it could backfire on you but put the guilt trip on her. What car does she drive? Ask her why she didn't get the next model down? It's cheaper.

You guys got it all wrong. Scream rant and rave that you want the Classic and there is no way you are spending the extra $ on the Limited. She will hold her ground and force you to buy the Limited. It has to be her idea.

There are quite a few differences between the Ultra Classic and the Ultra Limited: Color/Paint (particularly if you want any color other than black), the 6.5 Boom Stereo System, A few of the Running Lights, Chrome Wheels, Security System, Trip Computer functions that are a part of the Boom 6.5 System, Luggage Rack, and not the least of which is that the Ultra Limited is Twin Cooled. Having owned one now for a year and a half and 14,000 miles I sure wouldn't buy anything but the twin Cooled version, etc.

To really make an Apples to Apples comparison use Harley's own web page that does just that: http://www.harley-davidson.com/conte...tml#2017-FLTRU

Thanks everyone. Going Ltd.. All of the specs on the twin cooled makes it too good to pass up. That just knocked the scale over.

Now, hope to pull this off before Christmas.

You (& your wife) won't be disappointed! Trust me...I had the same problem trying to convince my GF virtues of the 2015 twin cooled LTD...now she loves it...
