Default Locking Lower Fairing Doors

So I wanted to get these for my 03 Ultra Classic Electra Glide but it looks like on for 05-13. What is the difference in my 03 and 05?
Thanks

I agree with groupw. I have them on my detached lowers and IIRC, they go on '91 and older. Get the lock keyed to your bike if you get 'em. P/N 57411-08 is what I got.

I have never had locks on mine. But I don't store anything in them except wipe down towels or reflective vests. Nor have I ever had anyone mess with them (or for that matter, any part of my bike.) Maybe I have been lucky to this point.

What do you store in your lowers that would require locking them up? I am not trying to hose the idea, just better understand how others are using this quaint storage location. For instance, if I converted it to a concealed carry area, I would definitely want it locked.

Looks like the change to vents in the lower fairing came in 2005

I have the quick detach kit on mine, so locking doors keeps them from straying away unexpectedly. It's also easier for me to get in and out things like garage door opener, keys, wallet, phone, etc. than the saddle bags (pre-Rushmore).

Maybe you're lucky because those Georgia boys are well behaved.

I bought the cheapos on ebay for 20 bucks. They're a lot handier than the dumb snaps that came with it originally. As far as locking them, anybody could bust them off with a screwdriver.

I have these too but they are as cheap looking as they are cheap. They rattled like crazy when I first installed them so I put several pieces of 3M double sticky tape on them to help quiet them down.

I will soon be replacing them with speaker pods so for now I just put up with them, but I actually liked the leather snap on's much better. One of the snap grommets broke off that's why I replaced them.
