Default Dyno Tuned,' 06' FLHTCI

The bike was a basic Stage 1 with 25* injectors and a sert. The sert was tuned by the shop using the seat of the pants method. Ended up with good lo end torque but not much pull above 60. Went for the dyno tune to see if the motor could be smoothed out and found they couldn't do a dyno with the SE Catalytic mufflers. Replaced with V&H and forged ever onward. You can see by the graph that it was running way too rich. I'm pleased with the numbers for what's basically a stock motor and it also performs well on the road.

FWIW, the original WOT run tune was not that far off....

The "New" tune is leaner than what is the default.......

At WOT, your bike should be producing a 12.5:1 AFR.....

At 90 & 100 kpa your Desired AFR is to be 12.5:1.....

Look at your map's baselines, you'll see for yourself.....

You mean it's not over yet?[&:][&:] I thought the job was done that I'd be able to ride it like this off into the sunset.

The shop that did your tune.... How or who taught them how to use the SERT?????

How much experience do they have with SERT?????

How many air pumps do they use????? Looks like only 1.... Best tuners use 2, one per cylinder for REAL TIME accurate mapping of the cylinders....

Did they give you a copy of their "Final" map on a CD???? Prolly not...

You've lost me on the "air pump" question. Of course I wasn't allowed to be there for the tune. And I'd brought my own 'memstick' and asked for the mapping to be saved to it. The tuner claimed there was no provision for doing that and didn't offer anything other than my sert back. I'm reading my sert manual now, I hate reading documents on a computer screen. None of the lean running symptoms are apparent yet. Will keep an eye on the muffler color and check plug color.
You know, a printout can be just a 'canned' file printed out for the customer in a worst case situation. Isnt' that an awful thought.[&:]

Looks good to me, the tuner went for a 13.5 AFR which is just about right for a good mix of power and milage.

You gained a little bit by leaning out the mix to the proper level, and you probably gained some MPG also.

Looks like you are good to go until you do your next mods.

Thanks for the +feedback, and by the way, that's a very nice site you have.
The local mileage seems to be up a bit. Next month the wife and I are going on about a 1500 mile trip and I'll post how the mileage looks when we get back.
I did three years up at Limestone in the early 60s , really loved our visits down to the Bar Harbor area when lobster was a $1/lb.

Right now I'm averaging 35 mpg on the highway doing 80 when I'm going to work. But over this weekend, normal riding off highway.....I got 40ish.
