1000 mile service
Have a appointment with the dealer for June 9th. Thats the first open time slot they had for my service. My question is howmany miles over a thousand is ok. After riding today I now have 1500 miles and at this rate I will have 2000 miles by june 9th. wi;; this causing any problems with warranty?

RE: 1000 mile service
No worries. As long as you get it done in a reasonable amount of time. Keep your service ticket and record your data in your owner's manual. MoCo just uses these mileage points as guidelines........they know you can't get in there exactly at 1000, 2500, 5000, etc. When in doubt, like you are going on a trip and you know you will be over the target mileage, do as donf610 did.

Shouldn't be a problem - keep an eye on your clutch cable - it tends to stretch a bit for the first 1K miles making shifts and finding neutral difficult - same with the throttle cables. The oil will be fine. Now decide what oil you want in your bike. Many of us use Redline 20W50. It's your choice - just decide before your app't so you can carry it in or, let the dealer use his.

Some will tell you they wont use any other product, like amsoil or mobil 1. It is bs, but check with them first. If they will install the oil you bring in, they should deduct the cost of the oil they put in, but again, check first. I do know that if you were to go with syn 3, they just charge the difference between it and the standard oil. BUT AGAIN, check first. Assume nothing.
