Default Touring seat for chronic tailbone pain

I'm looking for a 2 up touring seat that will allow me to do long rides with chronic tailbone pain. Not just a sore ***, but specifically tailbone pain. We saw one at Lake of the Ozarks but never got a chance to talk to the owner. Basically it has a slot down the middle to relieve pressure on the tailbone.

Anyone seen one of these?

Thumbs up

Had the same tailbone pain with my stock badlander seat. Bought the

Explorer seat and total comfort. No more pain.

I cut a piece of plastic out of the bottom center of my stock seat[so the foamdidn't have any support in that area]-about 2 inches wide and 4 inches long.Just an eyeball guess as to where my tailbone was on the seat.it worked great, until my new Mustang Wide Touring seat got here.
The Mustang seat is firm, but is pretty darn comfy, with no tailbone problem.

Their answer to me:

"Hey Pat, I would recommend our Double Decker modification for you and have a tail bone relief channel which should eliminate most if not all tail bone pressure you are experiencing."

Went through a few seats looking for comfort.........found this instead.......the R version has no air bladder in the center......only on your cheeks.........VERY comfortable.

I believe you saw the Rush Cyclepedic seat. It has the tailbone slot you are seeking.

another to try might be the day long by russell. I went through a stock seat, a seat from ultimate, the touring seat from mustang before i found the day long. over 50000 miles it with no problems. i had terrible tail bone pain after about an hour in the saddle. with each aftermarket seat, it got just a little better but i still couldn't ride through a tank of gas in one stretch. not the prettiest seat but i got mine with leather and heat. absolutely love it. check it out.

I had the same issue and was miserable, could not stand to ride more than 2 hours
Tried harley hammock,no help at all
Tried sundowner,a little better but not the solution
Ended up with a corbin dual tour with optional softer foam

I must admit the seat is very hardifficult, maybe a little too hard
But my tailbone hurts no more, wife and I can ride all we want without the chronic pain

Good luck

I don't have much expeirience with touring seats but I do have chronic hip pain. Good luck in your search and keep us posted on what helps.
