Default Stalling when cold outside

I've had something kind of odd going on the past couple mornings on my ride into work.

It's been in the low 40's in the morning(which is pretty cool for Sacramento, but I digress). I'll start downshifting to come to a stop and the last few yards, I'm always in first gear with the clutch pulled in, just kind of coasting. All of a sudden, the RPMs will drop and the bike just stalls. Usually, my bike idles right around 900 - 1000 RPMs. This has been very intermittent. It doesn't always happen but when it does, it's always cooler outside.

It happened again to me this morning after I had been riding only 10 minutes or so. Came coasting up to a stop sign and bike stalls. I pulled over and it starts right back up and ran like nothing ever happened.

The problem is, I don't have a clue what to even start investigating.

That's a possibility, but it only happens when it's cold and it's very intermittent. It also always starts right back up and doesn't happen again for the rest of my ride.

I know when it's going to happen when I look at the tachometer when getting off the throttle and it dips below 500 RPMs.

Thank you for the suggestion. I really appreciate it!

I would try some sea foam in the fuel.

I've used that in the past. Also, I only run 91 octane(premium) in this bike. Guess I'll dump some more in! Thanks!!

Engine temp sensor? If that's off the ECM won't be setting the idle for the actual temperature.

That's my next thing to check when I get a free minute. Thank you for the suggestion!

I didn't think of that. Although, I'm not sure how to check or test that. Great suggestion! Thank you very much! I really appreciate it.

I didn't know I had an air temp sensor on my bike. Guess I'd better RTFM.
