Taking my fairing off and turned my wheel and now my forks locked. How do I get them unlocked? Connected back the battery and that still does not work. It is an 2011 ultra classic

 

What position is the ignition switch in? You didn't remove it, the ignition switch, by any chance did you?

 

I did remove the ignition switch because I needed to remove it to get fairing off because changing handle bars but I put it back in and turn it but won't do anything

 

If you didn't orient it correctly, that is your problem. There are instructions in the FSM on the correct procedure. You tube also has some very helpful videos. You can also search this site as the issue has been covered before. Sorry I can't help with first hand info but I've not had to pull mine yet.

 

I had a customers bike apart and he decided to turn the key switch on a bat wing and did the same thing. Look on youtube and just search. There are several how to's, relax you are good. I just used a big flat blade screw driver. Gets down right sporting living life on the edge?

 

 

Look in the barrel with flash light and carefully line up all the notches keep trying you will be surprise the darn thing will work unexpectedly, don't get frustrated take your time walk away come back give another shot it's just matter of time.

Be patient...take your time...align the ignition catch.

 

Look at the notches in your switch you removed. The notches in the "cams" inside your switch housing have to match the "teeth" on the switch shaft. They are flared on one side. Most people stick a screwdriver or something like that in there and unknowingly turn only part of the plates, getting them out of alignment with the others.

 

This is a useful tool to keep in the toolbox.
