Police seat on RKC question.

- well, alot of guys use the kong to good effect- and they come in black too.
those who do say the ride is good or better and it is simple- and as I pointed out earlier you can quickly swap seats if you want to take a passenger.
but I like to be able to add or subtract air on mine ( for now)
retiredpolicebikes.com is another resource
here is part 1 on the kong swap:

I put the air bladder behind the right saddlebag too. I love the seat, went on a 2300 mile 7-day ride and felt great the whole time! I have a motherwell luggage rack on now, and it's held on by the same screw that holds a mustang passenger seat when my wife wants to ride. Easy swap and classic looks.

Got the seat delivered today and got it installed as well. Took me about an hr to install, but to be fair, I removed the old seat and saddlebags last night.
the one think I read about that doesn't make sense is people using rivnuts, or the need for them.
I had some new hardware laying around that Ibwas able to use for the main brackets and re routing the left side harness thru the center was the biggest issue I had because I installed the brackets without realizing I had to cut the zip tie and move the top harness to the center so Incould fit the plastic cover correctly.
Took the bike for a quick ride and I gotta say I ABSOLUTELY LIVE THIS SEAT!!!!
I installed the rear assembly for now so I could install and test tonight, but will eventually remove it and relocate the reservoir.

As said above, Harbor Freight. My bike is very stable on it, as long as you remember the bike only has one kick stand. What I mean by that is you will position yourself on either side to roll the bike around the garage, but if you are on the kickstand side, one must remember to push low to not tip bike over. My garage is small so the bike stays on it when I am not riding. I have gotten the bike on and off the stand at least 40 times by now. I feel very confident both getting on/off as well as living it on it. The first few days I was a bit nervous so I placed a jack stand under the passenger footboard mount (it just fits)
Now I am past my fears. It feels pretty solid, casters are crap. In the spring I am going to weld it together and replace casters with heavy duty ones.
