Better question, how much do you want to spend? There are so many to pick from. The basic platform scissor/screw jack runs around $60.00. If you go hydraulic floor model on wheels your going spend over a $100.00 for a low profile model.
There are pros and cons to both from a DIY perspective. I like the platform scissor type for its access to things like oils service, drain plugs access. Just watch it if removing tires and wheels. Not the most stable when pulling and lifting them on the platform type. The floor model hydraulic is much more stable for tire removal. It also gives you the ability to move the bike ,carefully ,on the jacks wheels. The down to it, the jack can partially obstruct clear access to drain plugs, or at least drain pan.
I hope that helps...

it's up to you- the $400 jacks are probably nice but my $69 sams club jack has lifted dozens of bikes, hundreds of times in the 15 or so years since i bought it ( maybe 20 years?).
here are the important things:
you lift the bike ONLY when you have to- and only as high as you need.
you use the straps and outriggers
you keep in mind that pulling a part off the bike may change the balance ( rear wheel removed, bike nosedives)
and you don;t let kids or dogs play in the garage when the bike is on the lift
these last 2 have been the causes for me to have to go over to a Pal's house and help lift the bike off the floor.
a jack is not needed for simple services like oil and fluid changes

Absolutely J&S, I went with the pneumatic/hydraulic jack. With a quick disconnect hook up, to my compressor, hold the air valve on & click, click, click (sounds of safe guards moving into position) and she is at the perfect height.
Fantastic jack extremely stable without using any hold-downs! Made: USA, a no brainer!
