A buddy of mine just bought the “big red jack” motorcycle jack which is probably manufactured by the same people who make the HF, Sears, etc jacks, or at least its the exact same design. He somewhat likes it, but the big drawback to it is that it’s about 1/4-3/8” too high to fit under the low side frame rail while his bike is on the jiffy stand, so he has to stand the bike up to roll the jack all the way under. His is a 15 Street Glide. Anybody else have this problem with the cheaper jacks.

 

If you have room for the bike, you have room for a lift.

Just use the lift as the parking space for the bike...

 

Hands down the yellow Craftsman. Now if you want (and have room) a platform jack there are many good choices.

 

This is what I have to do. 14 x 20 garage. 2 Freewheelers and a Street 500. One trike is always on the lift.

 

In my case it’s not that simple. I have a small (20x15) shop built onto the back of my garage. It’s accessed through a set of double doors in the back of the garage.
Inside I have shelving, tool chests, a bench and both mine and my wife’s Ultras. The bikes always go up on J&S jacks when we pull in. This allows us to push the first one to the side in order to have room to pull the next one in. We are then able to roll both bikes side to side to better access the shelving and workbench. It also allows us to have one bike off to the side so the other can be spun around. This is nice because we can pull straight out the doors and through the garage.

 

That's what I do. Cost a bit initially, but more than pays for itself.
