Default CB Antenna Question

I am relocating the CB antenna from the tour-pak mount to the lower back end. I removed the antenna mount and cable from the tour-pak, and I see that there are two black wires. There is a female spade terminal that went to the tour-pak support base, and a ring terminal that went to the antenna mount base. I'm just wondering what the reason is for the 2 grounds? Am I correct that I can just make a bracket that will hold the base that I removed from the tour-oak? Thanks in advance.

the plate in the tourpak is a "ground plane"- which makes the antenna better able to capture radio waves.

without the antenna won;t work as well.

but if your riding Pal is close you should be fine.

just leave off that wire.
