RG removal of engine guard
Have any of you removed your engine guard from your Road glide or touring bikeand went with just the upper fairing mount?
Also have any of you tried the Kuryakyn extended cruise arms? They are the one that mount to the frame instead of the engine guard.
I'm thinking of trying this but would hear about any positives or negatives.
Thanks
Love this site, but DAM it is cleaning out my wallet!!!!

I'll beg you not to remove your engine guard.....One drop and you'll regret it.....:You don't have to drop it to learn to respect it. Last week at Myrtle, a car backed into my bike and knocked it over. That engine guard sure saved it from some major damage.

Just imagine what the damage would be to the fairing, inner and outer if the engine guard was not in place and it went over. Best leave it on!

Thanks for the warnings. The last thing I want is to drop my bike and cause a lot of damage.
My problems is I intsalled the extended floor boards and brake pedal and my big foot is right next the engine gaurd.
Anyway has anyone tried this set up?

I don't think you can remove the guard on a Roadglide any way. the fairing mounts to it. I suppose you could fabricate something to replace it but I would leave it on regardless.

There is a bracket available to replace the engine guard as a mounting point for the fairing, but like the comments above, not a good idea.
