Default chrome, Chrome, CHROME! Is it ever too much? [img]

Ok, I've been bit by the "chrome bug".

I chromed my entire front end, including controls, stainless cables, etc....

I put every available chrome cover on the engine.

I put the chrome oil breather tube.

Chrome / rubber floor boards and passenger boards.

I guess you get the picture.

Is the consensus "more chrome is better"?

Or does it get "tacky" with too much?

I'd like your opinion.

That's a personal choice. If you like it, keep going. You'll know when it's time to stop. Hopefully that will be before you invent chrome white walls.
It's just like the little neon lights, some people love them, some hate them.
Have fun!!

It's just a little tongue-in-cheek.

Remember this principle: K.I.S.S.

Some chrome, polished aluminum, or stainless looks good when it's used to break up the monotony, or to set off a particular area or part of a machine. But when the chrome becomes the principal, or overwhelms everything else, it becomes tacky. And when too many bolt-on goodies are used for their shine-appeal, then the overall look is also somewhat tacky.

But these are just my opinions. It took me over 30 years to acquire them. I've paid for them, and they ain't for rent or sale.

As mentioned above, add what you like. That's what makes it yours. However, I did see a guy that had EVERYTHING chrome on a RKC. A bit gaudy for my taste. But, I do like the chrome.

Somewhere on here a guy was going to have his wife chromed. That would be stretching it.

I like just enough chrome, not into the full chrome theme. That's why I went with a SG instead of the EG

Mine was chromed out when I bought it. I have had estimates ranging from $3500 all the way to $5000 worth. I would have never put that much on there, but I look at it this way. I can always take off anything I want to, or I can sand it and paint it black!

I guess I'm an old fart, I like it all UNTIL IT COMES TO CLEANING IT!

But even that is easy now. I use a wash and wax all in one with a big fluffy mitt and then blow dry with the good old leaf blower - oooooops, scoooze me I meant Bike Dryer.
