Man, glad you are recovering. Good luck to you both. The bike is a tough decision. I know at least one dealer here in Kansas City is offering a free 110 upgrade with the purchase of any new 16 Touring bike. The new M8 looks very good though. I think if it was me it would be hard to pass up that free 110 upgrade. But my guess is free really isn't free.

My wife doesn't ride with me hardly at all any more after her cousin was killed this summer on his bike. A woman talking on her phone turned left in front of him. You know the story, " I didn't see him", what ever. Time will tell, good luck to you both.

Hopefully you have a full recovery as does your wife.

On your dilemma, I'd take my time if I were you. I think you will see reports between now and the late spring regarding any issues with the new motors from HD. From all I have heard the are a workhorse, but only time will tell.

I haven't met anyone yet that purchased one, but supposedly HD has been going around the country with a couple for demo that have over 200K in mileage with no issues. (I'll believe that when I speak with a true owner)

There are always kinks to be worked out, so other than the motor, if correct it is a new trans as well. So I would say sit back, read on the newer bikes, recover fully and then make a decision. Good Luck.

Sorry to hear of you all going down. I hope you both make a full recovery. Good idea getting a mouthpiece to protect you rights. I'd go for a new m8 unless there are all sorts of problem that come out later. I'd pass on the 110 unless it was water cooled and not sure I'd want the dealership doing the work. A factory 110 would be better IMHO. The new M8 114 runs really good from the demo rides I've done on them. Its stronger and cooler than the 110's I've ridden. Take time and heal up 1st then grab your new ride.
Take care of yourself and the wife.

Thanks everyone

Healing is first on our minds. I am in no rush for a new bike esp with winter coming.

Sounds like when i can i need to test ride the m8 better.

Also hoping by the time i am ready to buy any issues that have come up with the m8's are resolved
